THREE PEAKS
20th August 2011
The National Three Peaks Challenge is the challenge to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
• Ben Nevis (1,344 metres, 4,409 ft), Scotland
• Scafell pike (978 m, 3,209 ft), England
• Snowdon (1,085 m, 3,560 ft), Wales
The total distance walked was estimated at 42km (26mi) with a total ascent of 11,178 feet (3,407 m)

In anticipation of our Kilimanjaro expedition (and as a perfect excuse to explore the British countryside), Mike, Cousin Jamie, Luna, Tony, and I decided to tackle the challenge of summiting the three highest peaks in less than 24 hours.
With the invaluable support of my sister Hayley as our designated driver and Vanita as our designated feeder and motivator, we departed from Gatwick Airport, flew to Glasgow, and met up with the Northern Chorley Crew. At 5 pm on Saturday, we began our journey to conquer the peaks, putting one foot in front of the other with determination to beat the 24-hour time limit.
It was a remarkable team effort and an unforgettable experience. Without the camaraderie and enjoyment of each other's company, the day's and night's trek would never have been as memorable.
I'm pleased to report that we completed the challenge, with all of us reaching the base of Snowdon in less than 23 hours—an incredible achievement by everyone involved.
